What's New? Something from the vaults.  FPS 17!

Now available in the FPS section of the site!

Jan 21, 2008

Well, some updates for you all.  Thank you all for actually checking back once in a while to see the latest!  If you haven't seen it, the youtube site actually gets updated more than here.  Small outtakes and bites from the shows make it to youtube, but not here.  So if you're interested, check out the channel and subscribe if you want the latest updates.

FPS 17 is finally online.  I shot this when I first got my grubby paws on the Grey Ghost 2006, and for whatever reason the footage sat on my drive unedited.  What you see here is the best of that footage.  Factory PB, where this was shot, is currently closed down.  However, local rumor has it they're trying to re-open.  If they do, you know I'll be there to play.  Also, the Ghost review is coming soon!  At least I'm going to try to have it done soon.  Winter has put a grinding halt on paintball in my area, so updates will be slow to come.  I do have a "lost tip clip" here somewhere, when I find it I'll let you all know.

On other movie fronts, if you haven't seen the Expert Village footage, I recomend checking it out.  It's like the Tip Clips you know and love but hosted over on Expert Village. (Check these out!  Paintball Gear Maintenence 10 vids, Paintball Basics 15 vids, Paintball Intermediate 21 vids)  You can also see the videos over on PB Review as well, but they don't have all the stuff up yet.

The FPS series is on temporary hold as I seek out a new helmet camera, as well as figure out how to afford it.  My "shoestring budget" broke, and it's currently a "zip-tie budget" and soon to be a "twine bundle budget".  Again, if you're a helmet camera company and you'd like to see your name here, drop me a line!

And, as always, keep circulating the tapes.

What is this all about?
For several years, Web Dog Radio was the only resource for paintball related tip videos on the intetrnet.  The weekly shows helped many players improve their game skills by showing drills, shooting techniques, and playing methods.  Helpful video clips that just couldn't be found anywhere else, because nobody else had done them.

The weekly "Tip Clip" shows ran for two seasons, covering everything from crawling techniques to bunkering moves.  The shows are intended for newer players, or expirenced players who are looking for a few different tecnhiques.  Interspersed on the site were also videos from the "old days" of paintball from the 1986 "Nightline" which was critical of paintball to commercials that aired in the recent past on paintball tournament shows.

All the "Tip Clips" shows recieved critical acclaim, including from the Chair IT Division of Central Pennsylvania College who made the shows a "must see" for freshman as far as an example of a professional quality internet video.  The site was taken down in the summer of 2005 for bandwidth issues, but is now back thanks to to the fine people at Special Ops Paintball.

This site is a standing archive of the shows that were already on the web.  There is currently no plan to release a "Season 3" of Tip Clips, but there may be some surprises down the road.

But 'Till next time, goggles on, barrel blockers off, game on!

How do I see these videos?

The videos are in a ".wmv" format.  They will open in any windows based media player.  You can do one of a few methods  You can download the movies by right clicking on the link, and save to your hard drive.  You can click on the link, and most browsers will open the appropriate media player.  This will allow you to watch the video, but may not save it on your hard drive in an easy-to-find place.  Either method will work.  If there is demand for it, we can host in a quicktime format as well, but we found that the "Quicktime" is very choppy, and the quality is just not there.  But, if you demand it, we will provide it!
